Frequently Asked Questions

Seller Questions

What are the seller fees?

There are no fees when listing or selling with us. When the Auction ends, you will receive 100% of the listing’s hammer price. The fees fall to the buyer in the form of a buyer’s premium of 5% of the hammer price for vehicles with a minimum charge of $195.

Can I set a reserve?

Yes, you can set a reserve! Your RiderClub Specialist will work with you to establish a reserve price that you’re comfortable with.

How do I receive payment?

The buyer will pay you directly via bank transfer or escrow within 7 working days of the auction’s conclusion, unless otherwise agreed upon.

Once payment is received, you will release the unit to the buyer.

For added convenience, we offer “RiderClub Confirmed Checkout,” which streamlines the process by handling payment and title/registration.

Can potential buyers view the vehicle?

Yes, buyers can contact you through the comments section on your auction listing or via the RiderClub Specialist. We encourage sellers to be available for viewings to increase the chances of a successful auction.

Our team can assist in organizing viewings to ensure a smooth and convenient experience for all parties.

What happens if my listing doesn’t sell?

If your vehicle doesn’t sell at auction, there’s no charge.

You can choose to re-list it with a revised reserve price or place it in our “Buy Now” classifieds section. Our specialists will work with you to achieve the best possible outcome.

Does the vehicle stay with me during the auction process?

Yes, your vehicle will stay with you throughout the auction process unless you choose to use our managed service partner. After a successful auction, you’ll coordinate with the buyer to arrange a convenient collection date.

Buyer Questions

What are the buyer fees?

Buyer fees are 5% of the hammer price, with a minimum charge of $195.

What happens when I win an Auction?

When you win an auction, the buyer’s premium is automatically charged to the payment card registered to your account. Once the transaction is successful, you’ll receive an email with the seller’s contact information.

You then have 7 working days to complete payment of the full hammer price and arrange vehicle collection directly with the seller.

Soon, you’ll also have the option to use RiderClub Secure Checkout, provided the seller agrees, for a more secure and convenient transaction process.

Why has my card been charged?

Your card was temporarily pre-authorized for the initial bid amount to confirm your ability to participate in the auction.

No funds are taken from your account unless you win the auction. If you don’t win, the hold is released when the auction ends.

Is there a reserve price?

Yes, listings may have a reserve price, which is not disclosed.

If the reserve is lowered or removed, a blue banner will appear on the listing to indicate the change.

What is the maximum bid?

The maximum bid is the highest amount you’re willing to pay for a listing, allowing the system to automatically place bids on your behalf in set increments above the current highest bid.

Increments are $100 up to $10k, $250 from $10-50k, and $500 for $50k+. Once your max bid is reached, no further bids will be placed for you. This feature is helpful if you can’t actively participate at the auction’s conclusion.

What happens if there is financing on a vehicle?

If a vehicle has outstanding financing, you have two payment options upon winning the auction:

1. The seller can provide a letter from the lender confirming they no longer have an interest in the vehicle, allowing you to proceed with payment as usual.

2. Alternatively, the seller can share the finance company’s contact details, enabling you to pay the lender directly to settle the balance. Once this is complete, you pay the remaining balance between the financed amount and the hammer price directly to the seller.

Coming soon, RiderClub Secure Checkout will simplify this process, making it more convenient for both buyers and sellers.

How do I contact the seller?

You can contact the seller through the comments section at the bottom of each live listing. Here, you can ask about documentation, vehicle condition, service history, or request a viewing.

What happens to the listings that don’t meet their reserve?

If a listing doesn’t meet its reserve, it may be re-listed with a lower reserve price or moved to the “Buy Now” classified section, depending on the seller’s preference.

Additionally, we’ll work with the highest bidder and the seller to see if an agreement can be reached to complete the transaction.

“Buy Now” Classifieds

How can I buy at the Classifieds section?

To buy in the classifieds section, simply select a vehicle listed with a “Buy Now” price. You can also send an offer to the seller and communicate directly with them through the RiderClub platform.

Is there a time limit to the vehicles in the Buy Now section?

No, vehicles in the “Buy Now” section don’t have a time limit like auctions. However, they may sell quickly, so we encourage you to contact the seller as soon as you’re interested to avoid missing out.
